Healing Medicine

It is my belief, as well as the belief of many others, that every thing in the natural world carries Healing Medicine. It is believed that every thing in the natural world can teach us something, and that we can learn everything that we need to know, from the natural world, from Mother Earth's resources. That includes the Stone People, the Plant People, the Standing People, and all of the Creature-beings. It includes the minerals, the metals, the insects, the Roots, it includes everything that lies or lives within the Earth, or on the Earth.

Humankind has been using plant medicine since the beginning of time. Creature-beings all use plant medicine. It is the natural way.

It is believed that the Stone People also carry their own Medicine. Some would call this metaphysical properties. They also have physical healing properties. In my experience in working with them for 45+ years, they also have a voice, and they will use this voice to teach you and guide you. It is said that they are the record keepers of Mother Earth, holding all of the information that has occurred on our planet, since the beginning of time.

The Standing People, or trees, also hold much Medicine. One thing that they can teach us is how to be in the physical world (trunk) while sinking their roots deep into the Earth (grounding) and reaching for the stars (branches). They also have "metaphysical" properties, as each type carries it's own energies. Some also carry physical healing properties, such as Willow Bark, which contains salicin, or nature's aspirin. Again, this has been used since the beginning of time.

The Roots - not just of the trees, but also of the plants, of all that have ever lived, lie deep within the Earth, connected to each other, and to our world. To tap into this Root system, is to be deeply grounded, to stay grounded at all times. Yet, many Roots are used in Healing, from Ginger Root to Ginseng. And some Roots are used for food, for instance, Cattail Root, Garlic, and Onions.

Which brings me to another point: natural foods also have healing and metaphysical properties. Everything from apples to yucca root, including all of your fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. Not only that, every one of them comes in certain colors, and the colors correspond to the Chakras, or the Chakra Energy System. Apples, tomatoes, cranberries, radishes, and red pears are all red and feed the Root Chakra. Red fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, cranberries, watermelon, raspberries, red cabbage, and pink grapefruit contain Lycopene, which helps your body to produce Vitamin A. It is known as a powerful antioxidant that has been associated with a reduced risk of some cancers, especially prostate cancer, and protection against heart attacks. Every color of food contains a special nutrient, that helps our bodies in some way. And they help to balance the Chakra associated with that color.

This also applies to flowers - not that I'm recommending eating them! The colors of the flowers also help us to heal, in some way, shape or form. And each flower contains it's own metaphysical healing properties, and in some cases, such as Chamomile, they also contain physical healing properties.

The healing properties of natural ingredients have been used since the beginning of time. Some have also been used Ceremonially, and some still are. Spellwork is a way that the metaphysical properties of plants are used. But it's not the only way. The Catholic Church burns Frankincense and Myrrh incense. Hindu's use Nag Champa, Sandalwood, and others, in ritual and Ceremony, on altars and in prayer spaces. Native Americans use Sage, Cedar, Sweetgrass and Tobacco, for prayers, for Ceremony, and to cleanse the air, and oneself of any negative or harmful energies. Sage can be used over a sick person, to clear their energy field, as can other herbs. Rose petals are used in Ceremony by Curanderas, bringing us back to a state of love. In many Traditions, herbs are used, spiritually, metaphysically, and for healing. Reiki Healers, Hands on Healers, and some Native Healers, also use Stones for healing. Sweatlodges use the energies of the Stone People to assist with healing in the lodge. Navajo Crystal Healers use a Crystal Quartz to determine what ails a person. Crystals are used in as many ways as herbs and plants. They are used spiritually, ceremonially, metaphysically, and for physical healing.

Then there is Animal Medicine. The concept of the Totem Animal is based upon what some would consider to be Metaphysical Properties of each Creature-being. Yet these so-called Metaphysical definitions are based upon close observation of each animal, in their habitat, while hunting or eating, while flying or moving across the Earth, while raising their young, and in all of their life situations. Animal Medicine can also be used for physical healing, and parts of them are also used Ceremonially, and spiritually. To call the Medicine (or Metaphysical Properties, in this case) of a Creature-being into your life, a part of that animal can be used, such as a tooth, a claw, some fur, or even a bone.

Now let me ask this: To call the Medicine of a plant into your life, do you not also use a piece of it? The same goes for Stone People, Roots, Trees, Vegetables, and Fruits, and all other living things upon Mother Earth.

Now I want to discuss the term Metaphysical vs the term Medicine. We've already determined that every living thing upon Mother Earth can be used medically, spiritually, ceremonially, and as Medicine, that is, to use it for it's "Metaphysical" properties. It should be noted, however, that what we are calling the Metaphysical Properties of plants, flowers, trees, and stones, has also been learned by observation - that is, by observing these living organisms in their natural environment, by what they tell us when we are holding them on our person, or by the action that they have upon our body, be it our physical body, or our etheric body.

What is Medicine? It is the properties of a plant, tree, root, flower, herb, spice, stone, and/or Creature-being that it brings to our lives, when we work with it.

What then, is the difference in Medicine and Metaphysical properties? Is there one? Perhaps, because the things that we are able to learn from the stones, plants, trees, animals, etc. cannot be measured scientifically, we can't truly be sure that they are working with us. Or that they will work for another in the same way. They cannot be measured by the FDA, and they cannot be Controlled by governing agencies. i.e., they cannot make a profit off of true Medicine, for it works with you and your energy.

Ok, now, where is all of this coming from? Etsy is cracking down on metaphysical listings, and this does affect my shop there. To me, the things that I sell are not "metaphysical" but are instead, Healing Tools. They will heal you mentally, physically, emotionally, and/or spiritually, because I work with the Healing Medicine of the Plant People, Standing People, Root Nation, Creature Beings, and Stone People, and use their gifts in my products, as well as their energies - with their permission.

I believe that education and communication are very important. I believe in being up front about what I do, and why I do it. I am open and willing to discuss these subjects with anyone, for they are the basis of my belief system. I live in the natural world, I work with it daily, in my personal life, and in my professional life. I walk the Earth consciously feeling the energies beneath my bare feet. I don't know what it would be like to not feel the natural energies, and my connection to All of Life, all the time. I have great compassion for those who do not feel it. I think it would be like living in the dark, but that's just guessing! I have lived this way for so long, that I don't remember not being connected. All of Life is connected. The birds flock together and fly in a certain direction, because they are listening to their inner guidance system, the voice of intuition, or the Universal energies, or the Creator within. The same with schools of fish, herds of deer, antelope, elk, buffalo... the list goes on and on. I used to wonder what we could accomplish if we listened to that inner voice of guidance, and then I learned how to do just that. Now, everything I do, including everything I create for sale in my shop, is accomplished using that inner guidance system, that connection to all of life, and to the Creator, or Universal energies. I work with the Medicine of All of Life, on a very deep, inner level.

I believe that the Creator gave us many Healing Tools to work with, so that we do not have to seek Divine Intervention for every problem we encounter. I believe that the stones, plants, trees, roots, flowers, and all the Creature-beings are those Healing Tools. I believe that we are here to Spiritually Heal ourselves and our lives, through learning the lessons that we came here to learn, and that the Healing Medicine of the natural world can help us to do this, in many different ways. I also believe in the power of prayer, and in the importance of grounding, of meditating, and working with your Chakras, your Aura, and your energy field. I also use Color Therapy to heal. There are a myriad of ways to heal. We must remain open to them all.

When you see the new *Disclaimer* on my shop listings, please remember this blog post. I must claim that all information provided is for entertainment purposes only - even though it is based on my personal belief system and spirituality. The truth is that I know it works, because... well because the Universe told me it would, when they guided me to create it.

I am thinking that this is an issue that is coming up for healing in our world at this time. We cannot continue to regulate people's beliefs, and that is exactly what we are doing. We are saying that while it might be your belief, it is for everyone else's entertainment. And that is very disrespectful, especially when others demand respect for their belief systems. Equality is very important. And just because some things cannot be measured - such as Divine Intervention or the Power of Prayer, or even the Medicine held by the Plant People or Stone People, does not mean that it does not work. Belief is key, and always has been. Set the Intention, and believe that what you desire is on its way to you. Have faith. It works.

At this time, we must believe that what we are doing, is serving our highest good, and is for the highest good of all of life on this planet. We've been working hard, for many years, and moving closer to living in balance and harmony with the Earth and all of Her inhabitants. Keep doing what you do, keep believing in yourself and your path, have faith. Everything we need is on its way to us this very moment. Meanwhile, stay positive!

Blessings on your path, and abundance to us all,
Michelle
